Local curators The Church of Funk are back, with some more funky hymnals for you to kneel down, or even better, get down to and say “hallelujah!”. Back in April, the Denver record label & radio show featured our own Milky.wav on the program, and this time around SIA funk-master Noah Marion, aka Proper Motion is getting the nod. It may not sound like what you’ve come to expect from Westword’s  2015 winner for the best electronic producer however, as this EP is a return to some good ol’ organic hip-hop roots. To be exact, Noah describes it as “Some Proper old school hip hop inspired beats with live instrumentation from Andrew and Kevin of Sunsquabi, courtesy of The Church of Funk.” But EDM heads rest easy, there is still an element of electronic production dashed in throughout. Think Nightmares on Wax meets Gramatik. Anyways, enough talk. Time to kick back, chill out, and let the Proper deacon do his thing.
