At Souls In Action, the inspirational, proactive, and fun event production, promotion, marketing and artist management start-up in Denver, we are looking to expand our team. This part-time internship will focus on the marketing, PR, and management for musical artists. You will be working with the heads of both the SIA marketing and artist mgmt departments to create and send content and promotional material, correspond with artists, venues, and media outlets, and any other duties that relate to artists and other clients. This is hands-on, real world experience in the music and entertainment industry that goes well beyond tedious grunt-work, and will help arm you with the skills and know-how. About You: Detail-Oriented: This is huge. Being able to complete complex tasks without letting anything slip through the cracks, anticipating what might be missing, and working all the way through a task. Passionate: Music, art, culture, social activism, whatever it is you love it. Passion is what fuels the Souls In Action fire. Motivated: You are ready to take the next step into learning hands-on marketing tactics in the Colorado Music Industry. Flexible: Part of working in entertainment is being able to get things done, often at the oddest times (sometimes first thing in the morning, sometimes in the middle of a show). You’ve no qualms about working odd hours or taking extra time to ensure that a project is done right. “Finger On The Pulse”: Ideally this person will be intimately familiar with the music scene in Denver and across the country. Familiarity (from a fan perspective) with blogs, artists, festivals, and other essential elements will be a strength. Organized: Taking extra steps to ensure that all of your work is organized and accessible is a must. You’ll work with enough chaos in the music industry, organization is the name of the game at SIA. Independent: We won’t be leaning over your shoulder, we need a person to be able to have a goal and be able to realize it completely. What You Can Expect To Learn: Best practices for event production and promotion in the Colorado music industry. Writing press releases, analysing effective outreach strategies, and various means of marketing through a variety of digital and street-level channels. Real world applications of using various online mailing, and database systems. Along with day-to-day scheduling and monitoring of campaigns. Effective team building, training and managing techniques. Proper copy writing, editing and managing procedures. Hard skills like: Google Analytics, Mailchimp emailings, WordPress site management, Facebook Insights, and more. Anything else you like.
