Last week, a massive initiative was launched bringing together musicians, and music fans to raise money to support Louisiana Flood victims.  Here’s more about #LouisianaStrong”

What Happened?

In August of 2016, Southern Louisiana received more than 6 trillion gallons of rainwater in less than one week. Considered a 500-year flood event, it is the largest natural disaster in the US since Superstorm Sandy. More than 100,000 homes have been destroyed, 13 are dead, and hundreds of thousands are impacted across 12 parishes in the region.

What Is Being Done?

Within days of flood waters rising, various artists, festival organizers, and music industry executives joined forces to organize music and concert experiences to raise awareness and deliver relief to this urgent cause, #LouisianaStrong. Music for Relief, a 501(3)c nonprofit dedicated to disaster relief & environmental preservation will be accepting donations to be distributed to on the ground responders Team Rubicon & Baton Rouge Habitat for Humanity, as well the Baton Rouge Area Foundation’s Flood Relief Fund, a 501(3)c non- profit devoted to distributing aid directly to local charities providing disaster relief across Southern Louisiana.
