Well, the wait is almost over, day 1 of Global Dance Festival kicks off tomorrow and it promises to be one of the most spectacular events of the Red Rocks season. Global Dance Festival is in its 12th iteration, and with the current popularity of ‘EDM’, is sure to be one of the largest to date. Headlining Global this year–the largest dance music festival in the region–are some of the hottest acts currently in the EDM scene. Headlining night one is none other than perennial Colorado favorite, the hard hitting electronic duo from Canada, Adventure Club! Night two features the Colorado debut of one of the most unique electronic acts currently touring, Destroid. Destroid is a live bass music band composed by an all-star cast of established artists in their own right; Excision, Downlink, and KJ Sawka–perhaps most notable as the drummer for Australian Drum & Bass group Pendulum. Destroid, however, isn’t just a supergroup of all-star electronic musicians, but is also a massive production, a spectacle unlike any other you’ve seen before! Capping off the final night of Global, and fresh off of a Grammy winning season, for his almost ubiquitous song ‘Clarity’, is Zedd! While the headliners are certainly massive this year, Global Dance Festival isn’t only about them, featuring over 60 other artists spread across three stages. From high octane Trap producer Carnage, Electro vet Wolfgang Gartner, DnB icon Andy C, the aptly named Savant, and the young producer and youtube sensation, Madeon. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone at Global this year! If you’re a fan of live performances, you’re in luck! Besides he spectacle that is Destroid, festival goers can expect live sets from Israeli Psytrance outfit Infected Mushroom, up and coming Seattle based electronic duo Odesza, and even some Hip-Hop from Waka Flocka Flame! The Groove recently did a feature on their ‘must see acts of Global’, which included Norwegian sensation Kygo, the mysterious Parisian known as Tchami, and LA based Kastle. You can check out the full article HERE. We can’t possibly cover every artist in this preview, but there’s certainly something for everyone! Other artists taking the stage include: Alvin Risk, Armanni Reign, Bass Physics, Ben Negative, Borgeous, Brillz, Bro Safari, David Heartbreak, Ecotek, Etc! Etc!, Gabriel & Dresden, James Egbert, Just Fine, Oliver Heldens, and more! Global will also showcase both up & coming and established Colorado talent, such as Fury, Vinnie Maniscalco, ILLENIUM & Said The Sky, and more. Gates will be open at 5 p.m. each day.
